High School Fundraiser

Fund raising for high school children is a much different undertaking than a fund raiser for younger children. You have to keep in mind that high school students have been doing fund raisers for many years. They will be motivated by much different factors than the elementary kids. Often times we find that the older school students will respond to knowing more about what the money will be used for. However, reward programs still play an important role in motivating older students. They will be motivated to win an IPod or more age appropriate item than a bicycle. Also, allowing them to wear a hat to school may not be as motivating as allowing them to wear shorts or other items normally prohibited. They will also be motivated to get to attend a special event like a field trip.

Partners
The high school students will be motivated to know that they are partners in the raising of funds to support certain high school programs. If they don't feel that the money is being used for a worthy cause, they will be much less interested in making the program a success. The nice thing about selling apparel with their school logo on it is that they won't feel like they are selling the same old chocolate bars or cookie dough that they sold for years as an elementary student. They will understand the value of selling something that people will actually want instead of buying something they don't need just to support them.
