Step 1 - Set Your Goals
How much money are you hoping to raise with this fundraiser?
Knowing the answer to this question is a MUST. This will determine the scope of your fundraiser.
Also knowing the answer to the following questions will assist you in determining your fundraising goals:
- How many people will be selling?
- How many pieces do you want every person to sell?
- What type of profit margin do you hope to attain?
Step 2 - Determine When Fundraising Profits Are Needed
Allotting an appropriate amount of time for a fundraiser can be critical to its success. If the
money is going into a general fund for later use, then there is no rush. However, if the money
will be used for a school trip or an event on a specific date – it’s important to schedule accordingly.
Typically, you’ll want to allow 2-3 weeks for the sale to take place and another 2-3 weeks for
the goods to be delivered.
Step 3 - Determine What Products are Right for Your School
Product selection as well as the imprint to go on them can be tricky! Obviously price will play a
part in determining what your school will be selling. We have put together 4 fundraising programs
that highlight
various garments that are most popular in fundraising. Please remember that this is YOUR fundraiser.

Step 4 - Increase Participation and Motivation
Promote! Promote! Promote!!! Effectively communicating the goals set forth for each participant
is a HUGE key to the fundraiser’s success. Enthusiastically promote how great the fundraiser is going
to be and how much your school is going to benefit from it. You can enhance participation by
putting together a prize program. An example of this would be to provide a free shirt for every 6
a person sells. Another is a lottery type reward program with an entry being given for every ‘X’
items sold – prizes are normally gift certificates or cash!
